Trouble Entering the Newegg AMD Spider Sweepstakes? Try Again

Thursday February 7, 2008
It seems that between the time I entered the Newegg - AMD Spider Sweepstakes yesterday and the time I promoted it in my newsletter today, the link I was using developed a problem that was causing people to get an error message that they were missing required fields, even when everything was filled in properly. I've updated the sweepstakes listing with a new link that appears to be working properly. So if you had some trouble entering, please give it another try, it should be working now. And big thanks to the readers that notified me of the problem and let me know that the new link worked for them!

Edited to Add: It seems that there is still a problem with this sweepstake. Some people are having luck entering if they turn off the About.com frame by clicking on the "Turn Off this Frame" link at the top of the page before filling out the information. I'm very sorry that this sweepstake is causing so much trouble!

It’s still having problems; it only worked for me after I turned off the top frame that About.com sticks onto sites it links to.

Erto, I see what you mean; I’m having the same problem. It looks to me like there’s a conflict between our frames and the Newegg site, which means that I can’t fix it from my end. But I’ll go ahead and put a note on the sweepstakes profile to turn the frame off before entering.

Sorry for the trouble with this sweep.

Cara, I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble entering this sweepstake. Have you tried turning off the About.com frame by clicking on the “Turn Off this Frame” link above the site page?
