What to Look For in a Privacy Policy

Saturday February 16, 2008
Have you ever entered a sweepstake and then been deluged with spam emails and telephone calls? Would you like to avoid sweepstakes that don't respect your privacy? One of the ways to tell whether you want to enter a sweepstake or not is to read the privacy policy that the sponsor offers. A privacy policy states important information about how the information you submit on the entry form will be used. However, many privacy policies are full of legalese that makes them hard to understand. If you're not familiar with reading them, you might be confused about what section of a privacy policy are really important to sweepstakes entry.

To help make things a little easier, I've created an article about What to Look For in a Good Privacy Policy. This article outlines some of the most important aspects to consider before handing over your personal information to a sweepstakes sponsor or any other online company.

What parts of a privacy policy are most important to you? Let me know in the comments!
