If there's one sweepstake that nearly everyone has heard about (and perhaps even entered to win), it's the Publisher's Clearing House Sweepstakes. This company has been loved and hated for decades for their huge prizes and (formerly) misleading advertising that made it seem likely that you were about to win a life-changing sweepstake.

I've seen many questions and misconceptions about Publisher's Clearing House repeated over and over again. To answer some of these questions, I've created a Publisher's Clearing House FAQ. Here, you'll find answers to common questions like:

  • Where to Find Previous PCH Winners
  • What Happens if PCH Comes and I'm Not Home?
  • Do I Have to Give My Credit Card Before Receiving a PCH Prize?
and much more. Let me know if you have any other Publisher's Clearing House questions, and I'll add the answers to the list.

I want to know why it says that I need not purchase anything to enter the 5000.00 per wk. sweepstakes but when I get to the end of the questionaire it wants me to purchase something before I enter? That is false advertising. Maybe I’ll call the better business people and find out.

Donna, I haven’t entered that one myself, but are you sure there isn’t a way to skip the purchase? PCH is usually pretty careful about making it clear that you don’t need a purchase to enter.

Why is it that I keep getting the ‘YOU HAVE NOT RECIEVED YOUR SUPERPRIZE ENTRY NUMBER YET’? I always do everything they ask for but I always get that message. Starting to think that this really is a scam.

Why does it always say that when I enter the PCHsearch page? What does it mean? And yet every single day I get at least 3 or 4 emails from you. You fill my head with big things, yet I haven’t seen a dime or recieved an actual email letting me know if I have won or am out of the winning circle…Please explain. Thank you,
I would apprieciate a response.

While your trying everything to win the pch $5,000.00 for life, but can’t be home to accept your check due to a family emergency, will you lose that opportunity of a life time?

Hi, Renee,

No, you won’t lose the prize. There are more details in my Publisher’s Clearing House FAQ – it’s point number 7. Good luck!
