OK, everyone, it's that time of the month again, when we're all waiting anxiously to hear who won the great prizes that ended in July! Because the last day of the month usually has a huge number of sweepstakes ending, it's especially important to be vigilant during the first few weeks of the new month to be sure you don't miss a win notification. If you're not sure what to look out for, check out my article, How Winners are Notified. If you're not sure if you've received a real win notification or a scam, read Before You Respond to Win Notifications.

July was a great month for me. I won an XBox 360 game console with a custom Batman theme, worth $400. I also received two Mamma Mia! movie tickets (you can win, too!), an MLB.com gift certificate, a Disney gift certificate, and a pedometer (try your hand at winning).

I’ve been sweeping since Jan or Feb and am still waiting patiently for my first win. I’m getting really discouraged though because I can’t even win an instant win game and I have been faithfully playing them almost everyday that I can. If I can’t win the little ones, I’ll never win the big ones. I want to quit, but for whatever reason I’m hanging in there.

I have not won anything of real value yet. I keep entering and hoping. Like everyone, I have won the Sun chips from Subway. Also won a movie ticket from Subway, a 16.9 oz bottle of Tea’s Tea, and a health bar from EAS/Incredible Hulk.
All I got was a CD… rough month…

Amanda, I agree with Karen – don’t give up! It can take a while before you get your first win, but it’s SUCH a good feeling when you do! I’d suggest mixing up your sweeps, taking some instants and some regular entries. The Lots of Prizes list is also a really good place to find sweepstakes with better chances, to help you over that “I’ll never win!” feeling. Hang in there!

I won a gas grill from Crisco’s Grill-A-Day contest. I believe it is my first win from reading contests.about.com. (Thanks Sandra for such providing such a fun site!)
I plan to give it to my wife for Christmas. A few years back, we agreed to not spend money on each other for Christmas (instead focusing on the spirit of the holiday and the kids’ gifts). So I circumvent the rule by giving her freebies and sweeps wins.
She won’t stop bugging me about wanting to know what I won for her, though the return address for “Grill-A-Day Sweepstakes” ought to have given her the obvious answer!

I think that I was actually notified sooner, but I did receive my first winning prize ever in July: a $200 Chuck E. Cheese gift card as a second prize in Dimetapp’s Mom’s Shared Wisdom sweepstakes! I’ve never won ANYTHING in my life before this, so I’m pretty excited. What’s great is that one of my daughter’s is turning 8 this month and has always wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese; we have five children all together, so this will help out quite a bit
I did think that it was funny that I only entered this one once, whereas other sweeps I’ve entered tons of times and never won.

I did not win one single thing in June, so it was nice to see “You’ve Won!” this month.
Don’t give up hope just because you haven’t won recently. Your chances are just as good as everyone else’s, provided you actually enter. If you give up, your chances are zero! And maybe you’ve already won something and just don’t know it yet – the placemats/napkins set I won was from May, but winners weren’t notified until mid-July.
My first time to win anything from these sweepstakes was early this week when I received the goodie bag from Oprah magazine. I didn’t even know it was coming, so it was pretty cool! It got my hopes up so now I am going crazy entering everything!! =)

I won the Cheetos Trax Obstacle course contest which was held at the Nickelodeon Slime Across America tour. After 4 months of sweeping, I won my 3rd grand prize! The first was a trip to Nashville, July 4-6, 2008 (sponsored by Nashville Bureau of Tourism) which included a concert featuring Phil Vassar & Michael McDonald, plus fireworks display (2nd in the country, so they say!) with the Nashville Orchestra. Also included in the trip was a Kenny Chesney, Pirates & Poets concert the following day. Second win came the day after I was notified of the 1st win! Missy, don’t get discouraged yet! The Subway rules state that prizes will be shipped “eight to ten (8-10) weeks after the conclusion of the winner verification process.” So it can take a while still before you receive your prize.
Remember that it can take quite some time for you to receive word of a win after you start entering. For more information, see Why Does Winning Take So Long?
