How Do You Use the About.com Contests Website?

Thursday November 20, 2008
The About.com Contests website has a lot of different things to offer,
including:

So I was wondering about which parts of the site you use most often - or if it's even obvious at all that there are so many different types of sweepstakes information here.

Take a quick second to vote in my poll and let us know which parts of the site you use most often. I'd also be delighted if you'd tell me why those parts are your favorite, or why you avoid other sections, by clicking on the "comments" link below.

If you didn't know there were so many things offered at About Contests, check them out today. You might be surprised by how much sweepstakes information is available here.

I enjoy the occasional winner’s report from the mega sweepstakes (such as the Wells Fargo blog posting yesterday). If I’m not winning the mega sweepstakes, it is at least fun to hear the story of the person who did.

I love the lists of sweepstakes you make, where I can just go down the list, one after the next, entering them. (Thank goodness for the Google toolbar “auto-fill”, which we didn’t have years ago for entering sweeps.)

I especially appreciate the Instant Win lists, even for the smaller prizes. I do pretty well with these entering them at 3:00 in the morning when I’m most likely to be “the first person after the randomly-drawn time” they select to choose the winner.

Keep up the FANTASTIC work, Sandra! You site ROCKS, it is by FAR the best sweeps site on the Web! =)

That’s great to hear, Greg! I’ve been purposely adding more news about winners to my coverage, so it’s really nice to hear that people are enjoying those posts. Thanks for answering :)

If a headline catches my attention, I will click thru for the information. When I decided to ‘join the club’ I read everything you offered which helped me create a good way for me to enter multiple contests.
I find the forums confusing. I think seeing the number of posts is a turn off, since I really do not have the time to read everything. I am wondering if there were more categories and then subcategories if that would assist?
I say this because I remember reading about some contests that ‘fly under the radar’ as it were, but when I wanted to go back to find our more, I couldnt’ as I really did not know where I stopped.
Overall, I love what you put together and I appreciate all your hard work to keep it interesting.
BTW, when I find a contest that sounds interesting I always read the rules. Many times I will bypass a contest because in the end, do I really want/need the item??

Thank you, Susan, that’s really helpful to know!

The forum does have categories (though no subcategories). They are listed under “Forum Folders” on the right-hand side of the page. Do you think that they might make it easier to read the forum?
