Kansas Man Wins Two Cars in Two Weeks

Personally, I'd be thrilled to death if I won one car, but according to an article in the Topeka Capital-JournalMichel W. Horton of Topeka, Kansas has won two. Furthermore, Michael Horton won those two cars in a span of less than two weeks.

First, Horton discovered he had won a Mitsubishi Lancer in a Bic Lighter sweepstakes. The article doesn't specify, but I wonder if it was the Bic Choose Your Ride Sweepstakes, which ended not long before Horton received his winning phone call.

A week and a half laterr, Horton was notified that he won the 25th Anniversary Bon Jovi National Sweepstakes from Saturn. The rules list the grand prize as: a 2008 Saturn "Bon Jovi Special Edition" Outlook and Bon Jovi merchandise, including autographed Floyd Rose Guitar, past Concert Posters, Gold Plated LP's, and a selection of Bon Jovi Memorabilia and Merchandise worth $57,904.

All of this luck does come with a price tag. Between income tax and the property taxes associated with the cars, Horton will owe the government about $22,000. But this won't be too much of a burden, because he was able to take cash for the Mitsubishi Lancer, which will leave him a few thousand dollars ahead, on top of the big Bon Jovi prize.
