Overstock Contest Offers One Lucky Family a $50,000 Bailout

One of the comments I've heard the most about the big government bailouts is from people who wonder why the big companies get huge influxes of cash, while individual families are left struggling under massive debt. Well, Overstock's Family Bailout Contest is looking to rectify that, with a $50,000 payment made directly to one lucky family's creditors.

This is an interesting contest, because you don't have to prepare anything in advance to enter. If your family could use a $50,000 bailout, fill out the entry form. After the contest has ended, the sponsor will draw ten names at random, and interview those ten people. The sponsor will decide, based on those interviews, who will receive the bailout.

The grand prize is $50,000 paid directly to creditors of the winner or the winner's immediate family. This could go toward a mortgage, car payments, credit card bills, or similar debts.

Entry is open to US residents aged 18 and above. Enter daily through December 22, 2008. You will also receive up to one automatic payment per day by making purchases on Overstock.com.
