So it's that time of the month again -- the time when we can all brag about the great prizes that we've won, and can read about the nifty things that our fellow About Contest fans have scored over the past month.
For me, January was quite a good month. Among the prizes I've won was a pack of Victoria's Secret products from Mama Loves Giveaways, $200 Visa gift card from Comcast and TD Bank, and a Mushroom Men prize pack from Ugo and 1Up. Definitely nifty!

Has anyone else been notified by a major magazine that you’d won a prize (July issue)then have no luck in getting it? I’ve e-mailed them three times and called about it once but, still no luck…Does this happen often and how can they get by with not delivering prizes when they tell you that you’ve won?
Brenda I haven’t heard about the magazines – that sure is frustrating! I had a frustrating experience this month with Pace’s contest … I won a free jar of salsa in an instant win but the win came in a popup and I have a popup blocker (as most people do) … I tried to refresh the page but of course that time I wasn’t a winner, so I lost the prize. That’s foul!
I’ve had a dry spell for months and was getting pretty dejected, especially after losing the Pace win, but I got a package in the mail this month from Food & Wine – I was a September winner of the product of the day and I won a gel-filled chef’s mat. It looks nice in my kitchen and is surprisingly comfortable! So that one little win will keep me going for a bit. It’s frustrating when it feels like you never win a thing for all your hard work.
I’ve never had that happen, but have waited over a month for a prize. This was a slow month for me. I won a coupon for a Kraft product as an instant win and that’s it – unless I get lucky with one of the promotions that ended on the 31st!
My husband I did use the $200 restaurant gift card I won from Fancy Feast (back in Nov.) to eat some extraordinary meals on a recent trip to Chicago though!
January was a very good month for me. I won a $200 Bluefly coupon from Always. A swimsuit from Ecotinger
for my grandson. A Blackberry phone from the Decembers sweeps on Marie Claire. Two coupons from the Pace sweeps (printed out) I haven’t gotten any of the others yet, but being new to these sweeps I heard you have to have a lot of patience.
I found this site in January, 2009 and won a $25 gift card from Miller Lite. Entered a lot of other contests, hope I won something from them. My daughter won a pair of LEI jeans from a magazine sweeps in January, 2009! Just started started sweeps in Sept. 2008. Sandra, Thank you for you tips, advice and website. Your website has become my favorite destination.

I won a movie ticket to see the movie Australia. The prize was actually good for any movie, but I took my wife to Australia since that is what the sponsor intended. Considering how often I go to the movies (never), it was a rare treat for my wife.
Other than that, my December and January were dry. Then, on the second to last day of the month, I won a $50 instant win for nflshop.com (from Mars). After doing my celebration dance (well, as much as you can while still seated), I figured I might as well finish up my daily list and won something the very next sweep ($15 free stuff from Kraft).
Just another $25 miller lite card.
I won a $50.00 gift card to Best Buy from REd Barron’s. I also won an Apples to Apples game. I love the gift card. The game is nice and I will probably give it as a gift to somebody.
Quiet month – 3 jars of Pace & $30 of Kraft coupons.
January was great for me first i won a Blue Ray movie from Warner Bros.100 days of Blue Ray.then a $25.00 check from Open Sports also i won a $100.00 gift card from Kotex and last i won a trip to the Playboy Mansion with a tour of the Mansion with a Playmate and have lunch with her from Red Man worth $5.000.00 who says your dreams never come true.
A digital Cam Corder worth 120 dollars and a Make up set worth 250 dollars. I will be giving the make up to a friend of mine, as I don’t use makeup, lol.
A 102 dollar pre-paid American Express Gift Card from a local radio station (I don’t remember if this win was in December or January but I will record it as a January win)
It was an amazing month for me.
I was picked as the winner of the ‘Remington’s Look For Every Woman Sweepstakes’. The prize is a 2009 Harley-Davidson V-Rod Muscle motorcycle. ARV $17,200
This brings my total winnings for the last four years to about $250,000.
I also won a $25 gift card from Pepsi and a month free membership at Lifetime Fitness on our local radio station.
I have had a good month. I won a Roxy Hunter DVE from Quizfest, Draft coupons, $25.00 Miller Lite, Disney Enchanted call, 2 Ebooks, $50.00 Papa Johns GC from Coke, $500.00 from ABC 25 days of Christmas, and Wanchai Chinese coupon.
Brenda, I had a problem receiving an Ipod Nano from Good Housekeeping last year. I emailed the person on the email (3 times)before I finally heard back from them that she no longer worked there. They did send it out and also sent a GC for Itunes and apologized for the inconvenience. So just keep trying!

January was my best month since sweeping for the last 6 months. I just started in December and today I got a FedEx envelope from Reader’s Digest saying I was a monthly winner in the “Vacations For Life Sweepstakes!” I have never won anything like this before and can’t help but wonder if it’s all above board. Anyone else a “monthly winner” out there? I need someone to pinch me to be sure I’m not dreaming!
I came home to a fed-ex package today, inside the note said I one the grand prize of a years worth of Birds Eye Steam in the bag meals, 48 coupons worth $8.99 each, not bad, it was an instant game, and I don’t really remember winning, I guess you don’t always find out right away that you won an instant prize.
