Publishers Clearing House's New Sweepstakes Offers $5,000 a Week for EVER

One of the comments that people have made to previous posts about Publishers Clearing House's big sweepstakes is that it would make more sense for PCH to award that prize to older people, who wouldn't receive the cash prize as long. Of course, the winner is really drawn at random, not to favor who would be the cheapest winner. But nevertheless, PCH is laying all doubts along those lines to rest, with their Publishers Clearing House - $5,000 A-Week-ForEVER Sweepstakes.

It works like this: if you win the $5,000 a week prize, you'll not only receive the cash each week over your own lifetime, but you'll be able to designate another person, who will also receive $5,000 a week for their lifetimes after you are gone.

The nice thing about the cash-per-week format is that you only pay taxes on the cash you receive each year, not on the full value. That's easier than paying the lump sum up front.

For more details about the $5,000 a Week Forever prize, click here. Entry is open to residents of the US, the UK, and Canada (void in Quebec) aged 18 and up. UK and Canadian residents can only enter by mail. Enter once per day per presentation through August 23, 2012, or as often as you like by mail.
