The grand-prize winner was Mary Jane Montoya of Fresno, California. According to an article in the Sacramento Bee, Mary Jane's mother, Sara Montoya, wrote: "Like parents everywhere, we think our baby is cute, but to have this honor is something we'll cherish for forever. To us, winning $50,000 is like winning a million dollars!"

Mary Jane wasn't the only baby to win a big prize, either. One runner-up in each age category also received a $10,000 scholarship for their future, plus over $4,000 to cover taxes. The 2012 Milestone Winners were Phoenix Molina of Sacramento, California, Justin Ridzon of Lowell, Massachusetts, Jax Schuster from Lebanon, Indiana, Londyn Ridley from Millsboro, Delaware, Jaiden Davidson from Petersburg, Virginia, and Johnathon Cahill from Mastic Beach, New York.

You can see photos of all the Gerber Generation Milestone Winners on Gerber's Facebook page.

If you didn't win this year, Gerber will hopefully bring back the photo competition next year. In the meantime, here are some current sweepstakes and contests you can enter:
