Thank-You Notes Really Do Mean Something to Sweepstakes Sponsors

By February 16, 2013

Follow me on:

In my article about How to Be a Considerate Sweeper, my very first piece of advice is to send thank-you notes to sweepstakes sponsors. I wrote: "Remember that sweepstakes are organized by real people, who are usually excited to hear how their giveaway is received by the general public." Well, when I was browsing my Facebook friends' posts on Valentine's Day, I was surprised to see an actual example of this.

Consumer Search, a company also owned by the About Group, wrote: "We got a Valentine from one of our readers yesterday! Thanks for the love." The Valentine in question? A thank-you note from a winner of one of their giveaways (you can click this link to see the original letter. It's a good example.)

Sending a thank-you letter doesn't take long and, as you can see from that post, it can really make a difference to the people who made your prize possible.

Do you send thank you notes? Do you have any good tips for people who haven't sent them yet? Take my poll, and share your thoughts by clicking on the "comments" link below.

I would love to write a thank you note if I had a win to be thankful for. 7 months entering about 50 daily sweeps and another hour daily entering one timers. I’ve “won” a tube of chapstick, haha. Hope it pays off soon.

Don’t give up Charlie I have been doing sweepstakes on and off for probably 20 years, I won 4 vacations, $1,000, and many smaller prizes. Keep at it and your luck will change :)

Hey Charlie, you’re actually a tube of chapstick ahead of me! :)
