HGTV will be airing a Dream Home special tonight at 7 pm Eastern Time where you can see the winner of the 2013 HGTV Dream Home Sweepstakes's reaction to the news that she had won a life-changing prize. But you don't have to wait that long to find out who won -- they've already announced the winner's name. Are you ready to hear it?
The 2013 Dream Home winner is Carole Simpson of Columbia, Tennessee. Over 77 million entries were received this year, and her name was drawn from among all those people.
Carole said that she's been entering sweepstakes for years. Her advice: "Those who didn't win, keep trying. If it happened to me, it could happen to anyone."

I agree with John…it seems like the winners are never the truly needy. I for one long for a real life “Charlie” (think Willy Wonka) to win–eager, sincere, and truly a good steward.

We all enter because we all wanted to win and since it is a gamble or similar any one can win regardles of economical or social status and only God knows who really needed it and that’s the winner. Someday when He decides I will win one! I think I need one but only He knows who needs it more!

Why does it have to be won by a needy person?
A needy person no offense, couldn’t keep the taxes/maintenance on a new home current. If there were cash gift included it would run out eventually. Get it now? You’re poor. Poor people don’t win things my dear.
To say “poor people don’t win anything my dear” is distasteful at the very least. I would like to believe that mean spirited people don’t win. Rich or poor this is a dream. Dreams can come true for everyone.
