Keep Your Eyes Open for Publisher's Clearing House Scams

Publishers Clearing House is going to be awarding a new million dollar winner on April 30th. As well as this being an exciting time for those wondering whether they're going to be the big winners, it's also an important time to keep your eye out for scams. Con men also know that the big award day is coming up, and they'll try extra hard to make you believe that you've won, so that they can siphon money from you. Here are a couple of very important things to remember to avoid these scams.

1. You Don't Have to Pay to Receive Wins

You don't have to pay taxes upfront. You don't have to pay the UPS man. You don't have to cash a check and then wire that money to anyone. You don't have to pay to receive legitimate wins, ever.

2. PCH Won't Call or Email You To Tell You You've Won

PCH doesn't email winners of prizes worth more than $100, and they don't call. If you're the million-dollar winner, the PCH Prize Patrol will appear on your doorstep with flowers, champagne, and an over-sized check. There won't be a question about whether you're a winner. You'll know. Don't let the con men fool you.

Good luck to all who are hoping to win! And remember that a new chance to win a million dollars from PCH has already begun.
