To enter, nominate a student you know who has been doing volunteer work for their community. Nominations should describe how the Student has contributed to the community in a meaningful way by performing volunteer services that helped non-family members in the 12 months before the end of the contest. Students who have already won a Kohl's Cares scholarship are not eligible to win again.

Nominations will be separated into two age groups: 6-12 and 13-18. One store winner will be chosen per age group per store.

Winners will be chosen on the basis of the project, benefits, and outcomes. The students' grades and financial situation will not affect their chances of winning. The scholarship prizes must be used for education.
