Using Texter to Enter Sweepstakes by Email

I have a gut feeling that entering sweepstakes by email has better odds, because many people don't bother to do it. Entering by email can go really quickly, though, if you use Texter to help you. Many sponsors ask for the same type of information when they take entries by email, and Texter can fill it out for you. Here's how:
  1. Open Texter by double-clicking on it in the system tray.
  2. Click on the Plus Button (marked +) underneath the Hotstring box to create a new shortcut.
  3. Put in an easy to remember and easy-to-type name for your Hotstring (shortcut) in the appropriate box. I've used "eml" for email, but you can choose anything you like.
  4. Because we won't be asking Texter to do more than just pasting text, we'll keep the default "Text" in the drop-down box.
  5. Click on the box that says "Enter your replacement text here..." Enter the following text:
    First Name Last Name
    Street Address
    City, State, Zip
    Birth Date
    Telephone Number
    Email address.
  6. Choose the trigger you'd like to use. The trigger is what makes the text replacement happen. I personally use Tab, but you can pick whatever you want. If you want the replacement to happen as soon as you type your Hotstring, then select Instant.
  7. Click the "OK" button.
  8. Test your text by going to your email. Compose a new letter, click where you'd usually start typing your mail, and type your hotstring. Your text should automatically appear.
These are the most common questions asked for email entry sweepstakes. If a particular sweep doesn't ask for all of this information, you can quickly delete it. If you have to enter more information, like a trivia answer, you can add it by hand.
