Why Don't Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes Ever End?

Question: Why Don't Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes Ever End?
A reader writes: "I've been receiving materials from Publishers Clearing House telling me about a million-dollar sweepstakes that ends on November 30th. Now, November 30th is over, and I'm still getting emails telling me to enter... but now there's a new end date. Why don't PCH sweepstakes ever end? Does this mean that no winners are being drawn?"

Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes do end, but the company starts a new sweepstakes the day after the old one finishes. So if you've been entering to win the November 30th drawing, the next big sweepstakes usually starts on December 1st.

For example, Tari Woods won the big drawing on May 31st, 2012. In June, a new sweepstakes started. On August 31st, that entry period ended, and John Wyllie won the big $5,000 a Week Forever prize. On September 1st, the next giveaway started, which ran through November 30, 2012, and so on.

The odds of winning are very, very long, but PCH Sweepstakes are not scams. The winners are really drawn and the prizes are really awarded.

Generally, the award dates for the big million-dollar (or more) PCH giveaways are as follows:

  • February 28th
  • May 31st
  • August 31st
  • November 30th
Publishers Clearing House also gives away other prizes throughout the year. See Top Ways to Win with PCH to get an idea of the different ways Publishers Clearing House gives prizes away.
