Sample Letter to Send When Sweepstakes Prizes are Late

Use this letter as inpiration when asking about late sweepstakes prizes

By , About.com Guide

Do you want to follow up with a sweepstakes sponsor about prize that hasn't arrived? This is a sample letter that you could send to ask when the prize will arrive. You can change the wording to fit your individual needs. The portions of the sample late prize letter that are in italics should be replaced with the details about the prize you won.

For more information about how to follow up on late prizes, see What to Do When Prizes are Late.

Dear Name,

I was thrilled to be notified that I am a second-prize winner in BigCompany's Best Sweepstakes Ever Promotion, which ended on October 20th, 2010. I returned my affidavit of eligibility on November 2nd, 2010 and was confirmed as the winner. According to the sweepstakes' rules, the prize of an Apple iPod Shuffle was scheduled to be sent within 6 weeks of the sweepstakes' end date.

Today is February 1st, 2011, so I wanted to follow up to see if there is any news about when my prize will arrive. Is there anything that I can do to help the process, like re-sending my address or re-faxing my affidavit?

If you could give me a heads up about the expected arrival date of my prize, I'd really appreciate it. You can reach me by email at myemailaddress@email.com or by telephone at 555-555-1212. Thank you for your help, and thanks again for running such a great sweepstakes!

Sincerely,

My Name
