GLOBAL SWEEPSTAKES NETWORK -

More Details about the Sweepstakes Scam

We received a call from GLOBAL SWEEPSTAKES NETWORK in Las Vegas to inform us that we are a recipient of the award. But in order for us to receive the award; we had to call CIGNA Insurance (Florida) and speak to the branch manager who will give us all the information in order to register and insure our winnings. We were required to Wire $3000.00 to Jersey City NewJersey ( to an attorney for Cigna Insurance) - Next day, we received a call from Customs Officer in LAX that the package is being held up at the airport due to the large amount and a fee for Tax is being charged prior to releasing the package to Honolulu (luxury tax of 1%). Cigna Office called us stating that they will cover half of the tax and we had to come up with the other half. We were to wire the difference to the same attorney in New Jersey who represents Cigna Insurance.

Tips and Tricks

  • Prior to wiring any more money, I called CIGNA CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS and gave the name of the Branch Manager and phone number. Corporate confirmed that CIGNA does not Register or Insure Sweepstakes winnings. Also, their Data Base did not show the Branch Manager as an employee of Cigna nor did the number register to any of their offices anywhere. DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING UNTIL YOU CONFIRM ALL information given. These people are professionals and will not stop til they get even the smallest possible amount of money you are willing to send them. They will use fake names, fake numbers pose as customs officers etc.
