Summarize the Sweepstakes Scam

I got Scammed by someone claiming to be from Publishers clearing house they said I had won $1/2 million but that i needed to give them $399 for insurance of delivery and that I should be home on Sat at 10.00 am that they would come by and bring my prize. I, stupid as I was, went to western Union and sent them the money. I have the receipt as a souvenir of never again. When the 10.00 am came I got a phone call saying that they were at the airport but they needed me to wire them $2,200.00 for custom clearance. I said No. they said they would give me time to think about it they called back and would give me a discount $1,100.00

More Details about the Sweepstakes Scam

I said no they kept calling me every 15 minutes saying that they were waiting at the airport. I wouldn't give in, told them to keep the $100,000.00 cash and to mail me the check they kept insisting that they were legit, but at least they only got the $399.00, I didn't fall for the request for more. $399.00 is a lot of money for someone in my position but I will survive. DON'T LET YOURSELVES BE SCAMMED! CALL AND CONFIRM! THEY CAN BE VERY CONVINCING.
