Couple Wins One Million Dollars from Lifelock's NASCAR Sweepstakes

Sunday July 12, 2009
Lifelock's Lock In 2 Win Sweepstakes, which ended on June 13, 2009, asked entrants to pick their favorite NASCAR drivers for the chance to win a trip to a NASCAR race.

The idea was that you could pick two drivers when you registered. If those two drivers came in first and second in either order in the LifeLock 400 race on June 14, 2009, you would be in the drawing for a chance to win a trip to a NASCAR race on June 11th.

Richard and Donna Musgrove correctly chose Jeff Gordon and Mark Martin to win the June 14th race, and were the lucky winners of the trip to Chicago to watch the Sprint Cup Series LifeLock.com 400. There was a chance to win another prize, too, although it must have seemed unlikely to the Musgroves that they could be so lucky. If their favorite two drivers placed first and second again, the couple would win a million dollars. But in the meantime, they had a very nice prize under their belt already -- the Chicago trip alone was estimated at a $5,000 value.

According to a NASCAR.com news article, it didn't look like the Musgroves were going to take home the big prize. With only 50 laps to go, Jimmie Johnson looked like he would win the race. And the Chicagoland Speedway was a bit of a bugbear from Mark Martin -- it's the only track in which he had never taken home a top-five finish.

But a great start after a caution stopped the race allowed Martin to zoom into the lead, with teammate Jeff Gordon close on his heels, to the shock and joy of the Musgroves and the Lifelock team.

According to the NASCAR.com article, Lifelock's CEO said: ""The last 18 [laps] we were together, tears started flowing from everyone at LifeLock. Being with [the Musgroves] just made the sponsorship that more special."

Both Richard and Donna Musgrove said that they would probably continue working despite the big win, but I sure hope that it will make some big dreams come true for them both.

If you missed out on the Lock In 2 Win Sweepstakes, here are some more chances to win similar prizes:

My parents are very hard working people who have never asked for anything, but always have the shirts off their backs for anyone who needed it. I am so very happy that they won this contest. They deserve it!

Dawn, please give your parents my congratulations! I can’t even imagine how they must have felt as their two drivers came in first and second again! I think I would have passed out.

It’s great to hear that such good people won such a big prize, and I hope it brings your family much joy! :)

I entered this, I don’t know a thing about NASCAR I just wanted to win the money. I semi-randomly picked Jimmie Johnson and Tony Stewart I think.

I offer my sincerest congratulations to the Musgroves.
