So here are the pieces that you need to find to win, with the rare pieces bolded. If you get one of these pieces, you have an excellent chance of winning:

lmfao at 800k for the Boardwalk piece. You don’t even need to factor in the taxes to see how much money you’re instantly losing on that trade. The million dollar prize is annuitized over 20 years, so the amortized value is only like 650k. If you give that much to any idiot, he could easily create a pension for you that will pay out 50k/year for 20 years just like the prize, except with no tax liability, by implementing a simple municipal bond ladder.
There is only (1) one Boardwalk game piece, yet on every blog someone is trying to sell one. SCAM! Do yourself a favor, if you don’t have one of the rare pieces listed, keep trying at McDonalds. At least then you’ll get some food for your money instead of giving it to some con.
Actually, I wouldn’t be surprised if there were multiple Boardwalk pieces in existence, and Mcdonald’s Corporation keeps hundreds in reserve so that it can sell one to whoever pools enough capital among friends, relatives, neighbors etc. MCD is a large enough institution so that 500k to it is chump change; 100% reinvestment ratio is a piece of cake for such a small amount. So, if MCD charges 500k for a boardwalk piece, it can easily turn it into 1.3 million in 20 years assuming an extremely conservative 5% internal rate of return. That would mean all the donkeys selling one are actually MCD employees. Wouldn’t it be hilarious if it was true?

I’ve been reading comments about how they have used and unused stamps. Does that even matter? For example, you have two stamps that could win you a combination and you have used the codes online. Would that mean if you get the last game stamp in that combination, it would not count because you have used the codes online and they are used? Or it does not matter if you enter them and get the last stamp in the set, that you could still go to McDonalds and redeem your prize?

It appears that everyone is missing all the same pieces “RARE” Boardwalk, Tennessee, Shortline, Ventnor,etc. If a person has a rare piece it is really too easy for them to get the other pieces that are floating around everywhere. I have all Railroads except Shortline and I am sure everyone else is in the same boat with the other pieces. We will have to continue to buy food from McDonald to see who will win!

MCD Q3 revenues down 4%, yet earnings up 6%, clearly due to increases in menu prices over the last couple of years. This Monopoly game has always been good for profits, with whatever results pricing in long before MCD reports its Q4 earnings. I was in a McD’s when a women got Boardwalk in the drive through (Sheboygan,Wi 2006). It was on a hash brown. My kids had wanted 2 extra hash browns but I was too cheap. Usually they were 2 for a buck, but now they where 99c each. don’t know if I would have gotten the winning package but how many times do you get that close? I don’t normally go to McD’s for breakfast but we were selling our house and I had to get the kids out so my wife could clean for an open house. A month later we found out through our realtor that the lady who won the million tried to buy a big house($300,000, which is big for Sheboygan). Guess what… She got turned down! See, you don’t really get a million bucks, you get like $20,000 a year. At that rate you can’t even buy a house. Yea, I felt really sorry for her…
My kids thought the whole story was kinda funny and blame me for them being poor, whaaaaa!

The wording is confussing on the rare pieces. It sounds like there is only one boardwalk because it says one winner. Up higher it says if you have one of these rare pieces your chances of winning are excellent. That made me think that if you had boardwalk and park place you were put into a drawing or something??? Is that a fact that if you enter codes on line, then you cannot play the pieces? That doesn’t seem right, because sometimes when I enter a code, it tells me I collected a different property than what’s on the piece I am holding. Also, just a reminder…if anyone wins a prize that requires you mailing the piece in to McDonald’s Headquarters, be sure you send it by REGISTERED MAIL (not Certified…there is a difference), and be sure to pay the extra charge to have a return receipt mailed to you. Registered Mail is the only mail service that requires a postal employee to sign for it at every step of its journey. It’s the only way to send anything of monetary value through the Post Office. (Yes, I am a postal retiree!)

Polyesterview, I meant that the chances of winning were excellent because you still need the other pieces — but since they’re easy to get, you’re basically a shoo-in to get the prize.
I believe the pieces are good for two separate uses – the collect-and-win and the online game. It’s correct that the online game won’t always return the same game piece as is printed on the collect-and-win piece.
You can only use the code on each piece one time online, so if someone’s already used that piece, there’s no chance of winning with it online. But I believe you can still use it to complete your collect-and-win sets.

I could easily get Park Place by purchasing x soft drinks or hash browns. Wow.
Anyone having a problem with codes not recording the same online as the game pieces states when you enter them in?
McD Player, that’s not a problem, that’s how the online game is supposed to work. The online game is separate from the collect-and-win game, and the board pieces you receive from entering codes won’t be the same as the ones printed on the pieces.

The second to the last post before me is absolutely right. This game is for a promotion to lure people to buy more of McDonald’s which is if eaten everyday, it would contribute to higher cholesterol levels, obesity, heart disease, etc. as was seen on documentaries about McDonalds. There’s the MILLION dollars trade-off for eating to win. I was also trying to attempt to get a winning stamp, but this is a time when people do need money and would resort to chance. Please people do think before you go eat to try to win. Something to think about to those getting hooked to the game.

The rare piece is the last token alphabetically, except for Boardwalk….because it’s F’ING BOARDWALK. And if you’re a struggling mom barely making ends meet, stop eating at McDonalds. Home-cooked meals costs 1/3 of what you spend, especially on the items you need to play this game.

There are millions of all pieces, except one in each group. They only make the number of special pieces, that they have prizes for. You can get all of the other pieces with just a couple of trips to McDonalds.
Why would someone buy one of your common pieces that everyone has.
Amazing, there is no Boardwalk listed on that ebay auction, just a bunch of the same ones everyone has.
I have to believe that those of you thinking you have something to negotiate with are morons or joking. Just in case it is the former: It is super easy to get any of the non-rare pieces. I have five or more of each of them. You have absolutely no bargaining power. Please stop trying to act like they are worth anything. If someone really had one of those rare pieces, he could easily obtain the other ones needed to claim the prize.

I think it’s an ironic comment pointing out that the offer of splitting a million dollars 50/50 for a common game piece is most likely a scam. But I can remove it, if it bothers anyone.
Who cares what you have or what you need? Everyone obviously needs the rare pieces. Whoever has the rare pieces would probably not need you guys’ help, nor would they even be posting about it. I just throw my pieces away if they’re not rare.

For those of us who don’t have time to play the game, it is very helpful to be able to know if we have the winning pieces or not.
If you are under 12 and reading this….if you have won a $50 rare piece or higher…then go to McD’s and buy the food with game pieces until you get the pieces you need…or get friends to help who have the pieces that are easy to get. (except you might have to share your winnings!)

RC, before you throw your game pieces away, be sure to use the codes for the online game. The pieces you’ll get online from the codes won’t match the ones printed on the game piece, so you might have a winning piece even if it’s not a rare for the in-store game.

Don’t have a party if you get Park Place. I got it and inputted the code into the online game, and instead of me showing as inputting Park Place, it showed that I entered Connecticut.
I asked McDonald’s Monopoly support what was up, here’s the response:
” The Online and In-Store Game are two separate Games. The Codes at the bottom of the “Collect & Win” Game Stamps are unique to the Online Game. After entering the Code and rolling the dice, the Participants Game token will automatically move a number of spaces, which corresponds to the total of the numbers shown on the dice. This may be a different property than the “Collect & Win” Game Stamp. ”
