When Karen Anderson opened the door of her home in Bella Vista, Arkansas to see the Publishers Clearing House Prize Patrol standing outside, complete with champagne, balloons, and an oversized check, the first word out of her mouth was a shocked, "No!"
Karen Anderson, who lost her job in October, was shaking and near tears when she was told the big news. "You have no idea how this is going to help!" she said, in a trembling voice. "You have no idea what this means to me."

Hey, pch doesnt not accept returns. you would have had to call with in a ridiculous amount of time to cancel an order. once you have it… your kind of stuck with it. I’ve read their terms and conditions more than once. its crazy and stupid, but its their rules. best bet is to call.(not an easy thing to do) talk about getting the run around… be persistent.

I was bombarded with PCH mail telling me someone in my neighborhood with the same initials as me was going to win the million dollar prize. Well, I live in WV not in Arkansas where the actual winner lives.

Are you people serious? Read your letters more closely, they always include smaller print that says something like “if yours is the winning number”. They never promise to give you any prize, because they don’t know until they draw the winner. DUH. I having been entering PCH off and on for about 29 years but for the last 5 years i have been faithful to PCH. I got hurt on my job in 1999 and i have had major surgery a few times and now i’m disable and can’t work. I haven’t worked in over 7 years. As much as PCH says they’re on the up & up… more and more the “contest” seems to be rigged. Every SuperPrize winner has been over the age of 60… never has a younger winner won. Yet… younger winners will always win the smaller prizes. Please explain that, PCH! The laws of probability and percentages cannot even begin to quantify a logical answer. I remember a few years back… an older (elderly) gentleman won a $10M SuperPrize.. and on air on NBC stated that he hadn’t replied to PCH mailing in years… yet he still won! How is that possible?
I have been entering for years. I think the first time was in like 1993 or so. now i enter almost daily for the last 4 years. I am so pathetic that I cry the day after the prize date. I am worried that a few months ago I won a $5.00 amazon card. cant afford to use it cause shipping. I have read all the emails from the contest entrants and I can feel for them. I have been entering since MAR 1972 AND haven’t won so much as the price of a postage stamp. But I keep entering b ut for how long is a good question. I would probably have a better chance playing the state lottery.
I enter every time I get a letter. I don’t necessarily purchase. My motto is….”if it’s the Lord’s will….it will be done.” Others might want to hold onto that one as well….it makes dissapointment a little easier to handle.

PCH is real guys. Writing letters of dire need is not going to sway them. I think every person who enters including me are in dire need of money. The economy is bad, but the sweepstakes is a game of chance just like the lottery. The lottery does not choose winners based on need. If it did, only poor and disabled people would win. It does not discriminate based on class. I have seen people on their last dime win and people who have money win. It makes me personally happy when people who are about to lose everything, who are unemployed, who are working three jobs, or who are disabled win and not have to be stressed out anymore. One PCH winner was able to save their home. It could not have come at a better time. Just keep entering and keep playing the lottery and the powerball (within your financial means) and you never know what fate will deal.

Hey I just recieved am email to sign up for the 1830 sweepstakes. hahahahahahha you already have a designated winner for that one I read it yesterday. I believe it was a lady from AZ. If you want the majority of people to believe this is real, send real facts. I keep tellling myself, I will not put out any money for any commercial you guys sponcer until I see something convincing. Every letter I recieve says the letters RF are definetly going to win. Do you ever think we do research on this. OF COURSE not one RF has won according to your website.
I find it amazing so many of you are posting comments saying the contest is bogus, they said the winner was this and that…don’t ANY of you know HOW TO READ? As for sending anything back that you claim you did not order, I have gotten things from them, they send an INVOICE with it, that has an address on it for your payment to go to…if you didn’t order it, SEND IT BACK TO THAT ADDRESS! Is this really that hard???
I think that what pch do is great for the simple fact who else do you know gives out money for free and they do say that its 1 in like a billion chance that you would win it also says that you would have to enter a million times to even be considered so stressing how long you’ve been entering, telling about you life,or leaving beligerent comments won’t make your chances of winning any greater as for any other sweepstakes and futher more you shouldn’t be fully dependent on anything if its not guranteed that you are going to be the only person to win. I had a dream that I won a large amount of money and robbers targeted me and broke into my home. After the dream I was very content to be a poor unknown person and felt blessed to just be able to enjoy gardening or just reading a good book.
For many months, I have received e-mails to register and I have on many many occasions. I have received e-mails that my state and my initials have won. I have had calls on three different occasions that I have won and had to send a registration fee on an insurance fee and I have wasted over $1000 doing these things and have never won anything. There are several things I could do with winnings. I am a widow and I struggle financially. I have grandchildren I would like to send to college and I would like to be debt free. There is supposed to be winners announced today and I have heard nothing. Also, the e-mails now say register for the April drawings. That is what happened in December. I heard nothing and the e-mails began to talk about a February drawing. I am beginning to think that PCH is nothing more than a scam. Please provide data to show that I am wrong. I am sending information to the Secretary of State where I have paid several hundred dollars for winnings that never came. Needles to say, I am very frustrated. I have spent literally hours responding to e-mails with no results.

Heres the deal with PCH.. They send the emails out for you to visit their website the more web traffic they get to the there website the more money they get from their sponsors.. Google,Kellogs,Progressive,Amazon basically anyone that has videos on the website is a sponsor. So yes it is a scam and it always will be.

Karen-stop sending money to lottery or PCH scams. Some of them are posing as PCH and askig for money to receive funds. Anyone who has asked you to give them money to receive a prize is a hoax. Don’t give them a dime more.
PCH’s only crime is wording their correspondence a way to confuse the ignorant. Guess what, that isn’t a crime. It is your fault you enter into a contract with these people without first reading the terms, or better yet the odds(worse than both major lotteries pit together). They tell you upfront you don’t have to purchase anything. If you’re mad because someone didn’t make you an overnight millionaire let me give you a sad truth. You probably would end up with more problems than you had when you began.
I’ve been entering for years & also ordering their “junk”! It’s misleading when they know they have a winner & then they keep sending you emails right up to the end of the sweepstakes deadline. It’s also misleading when they keep on saying the person with your initials will win. I have never won & no one in my area with the same initials has ever won!

My aunt played this for 20 years she said and never won. I started to play but have noticed that all of the winners i have looked up are over 30… I think this whole game is rigged…. I mean if you think about it why wouldnt they want to give the 5,000.00 a week for life to an elderly person? Then they only have so many years before they die?? I have entered many times and I never receive nothing but a bunch of emails telling me to enter. Seems that mostly only the elderly win. I haven’t heard of many young people winning the sweepstakes. I too was sent that email I was a winner and that someone would contact me and nothing happened. I read most of these comments and it’s all the same. I never order anything because it says specifically that ordering doesn’t help your chances to win. So many people have lost their jobs or are handicapped and on a limited income and are hoping, some praying, some crossng their fingers and toes and still don’t get picked. I’m a little disappointed because of PCH leading me on thinking I’m the winner and well, I suppose I worked myself up to thinking that I was the winner. But I knew that when no one came to house yesterday with the balloons and the big check and the champagne that I didn’t win. Very, very, very disappointed but also figured it wouldn’t be me at the same time. But there’s always that dream that I will win. So, I have to keep my hopes up. PCH is a complete scam. we read all of the complaints that people had on pch. We used to participate with pch for quite a while and haven’t won a cent. Got nothing but promises on being a definite winner. Now when we receive anything from pch in the mail, we don’t even bother to open – in the shredder it goes. I advise all of you to do the same. Pch should be # 1 the on BBB list.

Ive been playing for years n I get a lot of email from these people sayin that some one in my area wit my intials will win. Then I get an email sayin I am a winner for 1 million a year for life but nobody had knocked on my door or even gave me a call back number and that was since 2/28/12. Plus I on the search n win I use that more then I use google or any searching site and still no prize or anything. Really everybody has a better chance doing a scratch off. Really everybody needs to see it to believe it plus I never seen pch on any tv or any channel and God is my witness on that note.

Your not winning doesn’t make it a scam. The odds of winning are one in billions. Your not winning is normal. You have to be extraordinarily lucky to win.

This is a real contest, and unfortunately, where there are individuals, seeing their salvation from the hardships that they are facing, you will find many deceptive individuals who sell their soul to the devil every day, Unfortunately for those without the aid of a computer in the home,it’s more difficult. How easy for you, would it be, to take a walk, to the local library? Once there, you simply have to enter into the computer, http://WWW.PCH.com. You may not know how to get an EMAIL address, but I am sure that the librarian, or the Librarians aid, will be willing to get you to the point that you feel like a pro at emailing.
Now onto the ONES that try to deceive you. SHAME ON THEM! What they are doing is not away from God’s sight, and they’ll be answering for that at Judgement day. DO NOT BE DECEIVED! If you win, YOU will be the FIRST ones to know it, from that knock on the door. If no one knocks, and you’ve received some kind of notice that you have won a million dollars, contact PCH and go to the ‘Contact us’ address found at the bottom of any page on the site. This is going to be a miracle that NO ONE here will believe. But I wrote a bit a few days ago about the publishers clearing house contest. Right now they are having a search and win contest which uses the search engine at PCH.com. Well todays date is September 12th. and I wrote the piece about PCH two days ago. Last night I went onto the websight, and entered something onto the search engine. Then the screen went blank. Then about 30 bue, red ,orange,and green balloons filled my screen. Then there was a simulation of a crowd in blue. They were applauding and saying congratulations. Then the screen went back to the PCH search screen. I remembered writing that piece for all of you about checking if this was a scam. I called the 1-800 operator, got the phone number for PCH and dialed it. First I spoke to the Scam division, they transferred me to Customer Service Dept. They in turn, sent my call to the computer input area…. And GOD BE BLESSED….. It was for REAL! I TRULY HAD WON!. I don’t know how much yet, bt the woman said that it was between $10- $1000, maybe more.

Read the fine print. They always say something like “you could be the winner” or “this could be you” or “you could receive this message for real if your number is chosen”. The emails and mailings are meant to keep people interested in the game… If you read things thoroughly you will not think you received a false positive.

Well i’ll never see any winnings from PCH even if I am on disablity and plus I have a 13 year old daughter that has seizures and they’re getting worse each year. If I was to win from PCH I would use the money to get her medical help for them medications help but don’t stop the seizures not only that my daughter was abuse mentally and physically as well and i’m a single dad just is just making it money is always tight . But it would be a wonder if I ever win anything.

I HAVE BEEN PLAYING THE PCH SINCE 2001 I CHANGED MY EMAIL ADDRESS AND NOW THEY THINK I HAVE ONLY BEEN WITH THEM FOR 2 YEARS WELL IN THE 2 YEARS I HAVE PLAYED EVERY NIGHT DONE MY SEARCH’S AND I HAVE WON $ 250.00 BUT FOR ALL OF THIS TIME AND 3 COMPUTERS I JUST DON’T THINK IT IS WORTH IT ALL .THEY CAN BRING YOU UP AND LET YOU DOWN VERY HARD .THEY ALSO SAY THAT THIS PERSON WON ON HER FIRST SEARCH WELL HOW IN THE HELL DID SHE DO THAT IT MUST HAVE BEEN TIMED JUST RIGHT. Everyone should be thankful that an opportunity like this gets to be apart of all the peoples lives out there, because if it wasn’t for them than the lucky people out there that did win wouldn’t be where their at now and you guys that are complaining about not winning and knowing the odds of you being the winner would have to find something better to do with your time than just sit on the computer and complain. I don’t know a single person in my neighborhood to ever win a prize from Pcs..let alone a million dollars. As much as I want to believe its just impossible to image the prize patrol showing up at my door…I live in a nycha development things just don’t happen like that here.but I play enter and search none the less…
