Publishers Clearing House Announces their November 30, 2012 Superprize Winner!

By December 1, 2012

Follow me on:

Rory Bellamy of Cleveland, Ohio Wins Publishers Clearing House's Million-Dollar Prize for November 30, 2012 On November 30, 2012, Publishers Clearing House announced a new million-dollar winner: Rory Bellamy of Cleveland, Ohio, according to the PCH Blog.

Rory Bellamy was shocked at his win. He said: "I've been working really hard this year. I got fired a few years ago, and... wow. Is this for real?"

If you're receiving Publishers Clearing House letters or emails, you might notice that you are still being encouraged to enter their sweepstakes, even though the expiration date has passed. Does that mean that the sweepstakes hasn't really ended? This is a common misconception that I've addressed in a new article, Why Don't PCH Sweepstakes Ever Seem to End?

And remember, if you really are a winner, you don't have to sit at home by your door. The PCH Prize Patrol will find you, even if you're not home. In this case, the Prize Patrol waited from early in the morning until about 3:00 in the afternoon to catch Rory when he came home.

Good luck to all of you!

There never seems to be a winner in the South like Ga. why is the winners always in the north???

(2) Sandra Grauschopf, Guide to Contests says:

Janet Watkins, if you look at the PCH Winners Circle, you’ll see several big winners from Southern states, including Arkansas, Florida, Missouri, Tennessee, and more. Good luck!

(3) meghan says:

It says to watch for the winner announced on NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams on November 30th, 2012. I did & they never mentioned PCH. I even checked NBC’s website & nothing came up when I did a search for PCH. Why is that?

December 1, 2012 at 3:57 pm
(4) Mary Wise says:

I agree with Janet. I live in Alabama and I have never seen a Southern winner of the big prize. What’s going on? It doesn’t seem as if we have the same chances as those in northern or western states.

(5) Sandra Grauschopf, Guide to Contests says:

Hmmm, Meghan, I don’t know. That might be a good question to ask PCH directly. I have an article on How to Contact PCH that might help.

(6) L Hill says:

All I ever see is that someone forfeited because they didn’t claim the number in my emails. I wonder if anyone does win and/or the make up a name and fake person who says they win.

December 1, 2012 at 6:47 pm
(7) Sandra Grauschopf, Guide to Contests says:

L. Hill, I believe you can usually win a bigger, bonus prize if you win and you have also returned some kind of number. It’s that bonus prize that gets forfeited, not the base million-dollar prize. The winner they choose still wins the big prize, just not the extra money, if they haven’t returned that number.

(21) Dianne Boyd says:

I did not get the information as to why the winner did not win the million dollars along with the five thousand dollars a week like it was being advertised in the sweep stakes, if this was really supose to be a Mega sweep Stakes. What happen to the five thousand a week. Why did he not win the entire Super Mega Sweep Stakes.

Reading all these comments just shows that people don’t read through sweepstakes emails carefully at all, they just read what they want to believe. I enter the Publisher’s Clearing House contests as well, and I can clarify all the concerns or misinterpretations here:

At #21 (Dianne Boyd)- No one won the Mega Prize of $5000 a week because PCH took an early look and did not find a matching number.

At #17 (Lou Ann Bentley)- You misread your email. It likely said that someone with your initials could win a smaller prize or is eligible to win a smaller prize in the initials-related contest only. Also, you shouldn’t need to mail in anything. Much easier to enter online through the PCH website.

At #13 (J Mackenzie) & #14 (Melanie St. Germaine)- I don’t believe PCH gives away any prizes in Canada, just here in the States. Whatever contest you’re entering is either a different contest, or it’s fraudulent.

At #12 (Amy Brown)- You are not required to buy anything to be entered into PCH contests. In fact, it would be against the law to. That’s in the fine print if you read it.

At #3 (Meghan)- They DID announce DURING the NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams. But it’s not on the program (it NEVER is, in fact), it’s during the commercials. It’s usually a 5-second commercial that features the winner’s name, then tells you to go to the PCH website to see video footage of the winner.

As for some other things– one of the PCH contests does indeed have a $1000 winner in every American TV viewing area/market, of which there are 215 or something like that. So someone in your area will win SOMETHING during one of the contests, but not always the million. And you may not hear about the $1000 winners if the TV stations choose not to cover their win (probably what usually happens), or if the winners don’t give the TV stations permission to air it.

And there you have it, folks.

(31) Terri says:

@ Mary Wise @ Janet Watkins and @ Amy Brown- go to the link Sandra provided. On the list are 16 people in southern states who won at least a million and a woman in Texas who won 21 million. @ Meshell Horton- Texans have more winners than other states. Just look at the list at the link. One person from Texas won the 21 million. @ ellura- If you want to have a better life for your kids, stop breeding and having kids you can’t afford and get a college degree or training so you can give them a better life instead of expecting to win a prize that will support everyone. @ kelly- there are affordable options for day care and you can always work different shifts. This is what people have to do to make ends meet and support kids.

I agree it’s sad when you are not the winner, but its also nice to hear someone had a positive life changing chance. Unfortunately,so many people are struggling and have it so much worse than some of us can even imagine. I have to always try to think about that when I’m down about financial issues. Congrats to winners and hope everyone else including myself will experience some peace of mind eventually :)

I have no idea if this is a scam or not but I will tell you that growing up my mother would receive these notices and R.Bellamy was always winning things. We are talking as far back as 1985. So R.Bellamy must be extremely wealthy as showing he was always in the winners circle or winning or PCH is a bunch of pooh. Seriously R.Bellamy has been in the winners circle or won each time.

why don’t PCH send “sorry” letters or a thank you for participating letters to the ones that did not win? could thay send you a book of stamps for all of the letters mailed. just to say thanks for all your orders.????

note to PCH???? make the return envelope Pre stamped. would help not winning. (just a little bit) you get your dollars from all the orders placed. this should be looked into!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(55) D . MacGregor says:

I was a Canadian customer of PCH for over 45 YEARS. I was on the elite list, they told me how many miles from the Florist to my house etc, etc.
Then they made a change in how I spelled my name, I complained so they changed my postal code, then adjusted my address. The final insult came when they changed my 45 yr old I.D. to a new number showing that I was new customer. This was in the year that an established customer was slated to win big so I was automatically eliminated. When I called to complain I mentioned that Canadians never win ……. I haven’t heard from PCH since.
